A handy and nice chart from GB Energy Supply showing the perfect temperature for various beverages. https://www.gbenergysupply.co.uk/blog/2015/07/20/the-perfect-temperatures-for-beer-wine-and-beverages.php
It’s in Celsius, because the rest of the world hasn’t switched back yet, but here are some conversions.
- Average refrigerator temperature: 37-38ºF
- Bottled beer: 39-43ºF
- Standard lager and kegs: 41-46ºF
- Cask ale: 52-55ºF
So if you pour your refrigerator chilled beer into a glass, it’s still probably too cold for full appreciation. This is one of the many reasons I despise chilled glassware.
